Gary Morse (Nova Scotia)
President

Gary Morse is President of CREA for 2011. He previously served as President-Elect and Vice-President, and has been CREA's Regional Directors representing Atlantic Canada since April 2005. Gary has worked in real estate since 1994 and owned his own Brokerage for 14 years. Currently, he is a Managing Associate Broker and an active REALTOR® with Royal LePage Atlantic in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley. Gary also owns a design-build residential construction firm, specializing in custom built homes. He served as President of the Annapolis Valley Real Estate Board in 2000, and was President of the Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS® in 2002. He is Past President of the Eastern Kings Chamber of Commerce and an active member of the New Minas Rotary Club. Before a real estate career, Gary spent a number of years in municipal government administration.

 
 

Wayne Moen(Alberta)
President-Elect
Wayne Moen is President-Elect of CREA for 2011. He previously served as Vice-President and was first elected to the CREA Board of Directors representing the Province of Alberta for a two-year term in March 2006. He is a salesperson with Re/Max River City in Edmonton, and has over 35 years experience in residential, commercial and industrial real estate. Wayne has served on numerous committees at the local, provincial and national level of organized real estate over the past 18 years. He was President of the Alberta Real Estate Association (AREA) in 2004. He was also President of the Edmonton Real Estate Board (EREB) in 1995. He also received the 2004 REALTOR® of the Year Award from the Edmonton Real Estate Board.

   

Laura Leyser(Ontario)
Vice President
Laura Leyser has been elected Vice-President of CREA for 2011. She was first elected to the CREA Board of Directors, representing Ontario, in March 2006. Currently, Laura is a salesperson with RE/MAX a-b Realty Ltd in Stratford, Ontario and has over 23 years experience in residential, commercial and agricultural real estate. Laura has served on numerous committees on the local, provincial and national levels of real estate. She was the 2004 President of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA), and is a Certified Instructor of the Ontario Real Estate College and is currently a director of the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation and a Quality of Life Advocate. Laura served as President of the Huron Perth Real Estate Board in 1996 and 1997.

 
 
 

Georges Pahud(British Columbia)
Immediate Past President
Georges Pahud served as President of the Canadian Real Estate Association in 2010. He previously served as President-Elect, and Director-at-Large. He has been licensed in real estate for over 36 years and has been licensed as a Broker for more than 30 years. He is currently Associate Broker with Prudential United Realty in Vancouver, BC. Georges was a Director of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver, and most recently served as his Board's President. He also served as a Director with the British Columbia Real Estate Association in 2003 and 2004.

 
 

Gary Simonsen
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Simonsen has been involved with organized real estate since 1984, including 10 years as an Associate Executive Officer with The Canadian Real Estate Association, and six years as the Executive Officer of the Winnipeg Real Estate Board (1991-1997). Gary also served as Chair of the Executive Officers Council and a CREA Director in 1992. For nearly 10 years, he has been facilitating strategic planning sessions, and consulting on Association Management. Since 2008, Gary has been the Chief Operating Officer at CREA. Gary holds Bachelor and Masters of Arts degrees from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario.

Cliff Iverson (Saskatchewan)
Regional Director
Cliff Iverson is the Regional Director for Saskatchewan on the CREA Board of Directors.  Since the beginning of his career in 1978, he has served on committees, specifically the Board of Directors of the Association of Regina REALTORS® from 1989-1995 and as the President in 1994. He joined the Board of Directors again from 2003-2006 and once again as the President in 2005. Cliff has been on the Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS® since 2006 and is currently the Past President.  Cliff's dedication to organized Real Estate and community involvement was recognized in 2000 when he received the Association of Regina REALTOR® CMHC REALTOR® of the year award.

 
  Reg Black (Manitoba)
Regional Director
Reg started his real estate career in January 1995. He is currently the Broker/ Owner for Century 21 Sun Country Realty, an office of 10 agents assisting buyers and sellers in the eastern Manitoba area. He also has the Market Value Appraiser (MVA) designation. Reg is a past Medallion Club award winner with the Winnipeg Real Estate Board, and served on the Board's Member Services Committee. He was a Director of the Manitoba Real Estate Association starting in 2001, serving as its President in 2007. He also received the prestigious Community Services Award from the Winnipeg Real Estate Board in 1997. 
 
 

Gerry Weir (Ontario)
Regional Director
Gerry Weir serves as the Regional Director from Ontario on the CREA Board of Directors.  Active in the real estate profession for 22 years, Mr. Weir is a broker of record with Sutton Group-Preferred Realty Inc., Brokerage. He is a member and past president of the London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® where he chaired several committees including the executive, finance, and political affairs committees. He is also a member of the Woodstock-Ingersoll and District Real Estate Board. As well, Mr. Weir is an OREA past president and has served as a member of OREA's broker viability task force, leadership development committee, OREA and REALTORS Care® Joint Task Force and Ontario Commercial Council.

 
 

Marie Josée Guilbert (Quebec)
Regional Director
Marie Josée has been a real estate agent since 2001 and a broker since December 2004. She first joined the real estate profession as an affiliate agent with La Capitale Champlain Inc. in Longueuil. By 2004, she had become an instructor at Collège Édouard-Montpetit, teaching courses on the Real Estate Brokerage Act, regulations and contract preparation.

Marie Josée was elected to the Board of Directors of the Greater Montreal Real Estate Board in April 2007 for a two-year term, and re-elected for an additional two-year term in April 2009. She has been representing the Greater Montreal area on the FCIQ's Political Action Committee since April 2007. In 2009 she was nominated as CREA's Regional Director for Quebec for a two-year term. In April 2010, Marie Josée was nominated as a member of the Disciplinary Board of the Organisme autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ).

 
 

Beth Crosbie (Newfoundland and Labrador))
Regional Director
After a career in Design and Post Secondary teaching Beth joined real estate in 1998. She has been a member of both the New Brunswick Real Estate Association and the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of REALTORS® and served on multiple Committees. Beth is starting her third term as an Atlantic Regional Director for CREA and sat on the Professional Development Committee, The Federal Affairs Committee, the Futures Working Group and Chairs the Futures Forum Taskforce during the 2011-12 season.

Beth gets great satisfaction from her professional volunteer time and believes strongly in the development of our future leaders. She would be happy to discuss the leadership aspirations of any REALTOR® and answer any questions.

Beth is a salesperson with Coldwell Banker ProCo in St John’s, Newfoundland.

 
 

Moss Moloney(British Columbia/Yukon)
Regional Director
Moss Moloney is the Regional Director for British Columbia/Yukon on the CREA Board of Directors. Moss has been a REALTOR® since 1979 and has been a volunteer in organized real estate since 1984. He is currently President of the British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) and a former President of the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board. He has served on BCREA's Board of Directors since 2005 and has been Chair of the BCREA Education Committee, Government Relations Committee and a member of the Joint Real Estate Council-BCREA Agency Task Force on Designated Agency, among others. Moss is a representative with RE/MAX Performance Realty in Surrey, BC.

 
 

Roy Milley (Atlantic)
Regional Director
Roy Milley is the Regional Director for the Atlantic Region on the CREA Board of Directors. Roy has been a member of the Canadian Real Estate Association since 1979 and is the Broker/Owner of Prudential Marquis Realty in Sydney, NS. He is a Past President of The Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS® (NSAR), and a Past President of the Cape Breton Real Estate Board. He is the current chair of the Real Estate Insurance Alliance (REIA) partnership between the four Atlantic Provinces and Manitoba and sits as an active member of NSAR's Government Relations and Political Affairs Committee. Roy has been the Political Action Representative for the Cape Breton Region since 1997 and is also the current Campaign Chair of the United Way of Cape Breton.

Mike Carson
Director-at-Large
Mike Carson is a Director-at-Large on the CREA Board of Directors and was first elected to the CREA Board in 2008. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Mike moved to London, Ontario, in 1987 and joined the London St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® in 1993. He was awarded LSTAR's Outstanding Service Award in 2003, and was President of the Association in 2007. He served on the Ontario Real Estate Association's Communications Committee and CREA's Quality of Life Task Force, and chaired LSTAR's PAC Issues Advisory Group.  Mike works at Royal Lepage Triland Realty in London.

 
  Ann Cosens
Director-at-Large
Ann Cosens has been a REALTOR® for 25 years, and has been active for more than fve years with her local real state board. Prior to her real estate career, she worked for 10 years in the financial industry managing and planning Estates and Trusts. Ms. Cosens was a Director of the REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington (RAHB) from 2003-2009, and was President in 2008. She has served on a number of committees, including the RAHB Finance, Professional Standards, and IT Committees. She has also been a member of the Communications Committee of the Ontario Real Estate Association.
   

Andrew Peck, FRI, CRB
Director-at-Large
Andrew Peck is a Director-at-Large on the CREA Board of Directors.  Andrew is a fourth-generation British Columbian who has spent his entire career as a REALTOR® in the Metro Vancouver area.

First licensed in 1983, Andrew became a managing broker in 1987 and, in 1996 merged several companies to form Royal Pacific Realty, where he is now a broker owner, vice-president and general manager, overseeing 890 licensed REALTORS® and staff.

Since 2001, Andrew has been a part of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver, first becoming a director, serving on task forces and committees, then vice-president in 2003 and elected president in 2004. In 2007, Andrew was elected president of the BC Real Estate Association.

 
 

Brian Walker
Director-at-Large
Brian Walker has been in real estate for more than 30 years, including 20 years as a broker/agent. He was President of the former York Region Real Estate Board in 1995, and served as a Director of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) from 2000 to 2009. Mr. Walker was President of the provincial association as well in 2007. He has served as Chair of seven OREA committees and task forces, dealing with issues such as technology, education and legal resources. He was also Vice-Chair of the Professional Standards Complaint Review Committee of the Toronto Real Estate Board from 2003 to 2005.

Pauline Aunger, FRI

Pauline Aunger is a Director-at-Large on the CREA Board of Directors. Pauline has been a REALTOR® since 1977 and is the Broker of Record with Royal LePage Pauline Aunger Real Estate, Brokerage in Smiths Falls and Perth, Ontario. She is a member and Past President of the Rideau St. Lawrence Real Estate Board where she served as Chair of the Political Affairs Committee and as a member of Professional Standards Committee. Pauline is also a Past President of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) and served on many committees including as a member of the Board of Governors of the OREA Foundation and on the Federal Affairs Committee for CREA. Pauline continues to be active in her local community as well.

Gary Zalepa, Jr
MTC Chair
Gary Zalepa serves at the MTC Chair on the CREA Board of Directors.  Gary has been licensed to sell real estate since 1991 and specializes in the Niagara-on-the-Lake, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls residential markets. He is active in organized Real Estate and in the community, having served as a President of the Niagara Association of REALTORS in 2003 and a Director at large for the Ontario Real Estate Association (2003-2009). In the community Gary is a Councillor for the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake and volunteers with minor sports and the Hospice organization Red Roof Retreat.

Keith Morrissey
AEC Chair

Keith Morrissey sits as AEC Chair on the CREA Board of Directors. Keith has served as a member of the Alberta Provincial Standard Forms Committee, the Alberta Provincial Agency Task Force, the Expert Panel on Law of Property, and the Real Estate Act of Alberta Legislative Review Task Force and is a Member of CREA's REALTOR® Code Committee. His strengths lie in providing support, guidance, and advice on matters of administration and policy concerning the services and programs offered by the REALTORS® Association of Edmonton (RAE), as well as their relationships with national and provincial Associations, and industry-related legislative considerations.

CCC Chair
Karen Barry serves as the CCC Chair on the CREA Board of Directors.  Currently, Karen is the president of Barry Commercial Real Estate, a boutique investment brokerage firm and Barry Realty Advisors, specializing in the valuation of commercial property in Calgary, AB. Her 21-year career achievements include multi-year recognition as one of Canada national top '30' sales producers and recognition as the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Agent of the Year recipient. Karen achieved the AACI designation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada in 2002 and her MRICS designation in 2008 with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
