Dale Ripplinger (Saskatchewan)
President

Dale Ripplinger is President of CREA for 2009. Dale has over 25 years of experience in the industry, working both as a salesperson and Broker. He is currently Broker/Owner of Realty Executives Dale Ripplinger and Associates in Regina. He was the inaugural winner in 1992 of the CMHC REALTOR® of the Year Award for Regina and in 2000 received the CMHC Distinguished REALTOR® Award for the Province of Saskatchewan. Dale has served as Director, Vice President and President of the Association of Regina REALTORS®, as well as Director, Vice President and President of the Saskatchewan Association of REALTORS®. He has also served as Regional Director for Saskatchewan and Director-at-Large on the CREA Board of Directors. Dale was the 2006 Chair of the CREA Federal Affairs Committee.

 
  Georges Pahud (British Columbia)
President-Elect

Georges Pahud is President-Elect of CREA for 2009. He previously served as Vice-President, and Director-at-Large. He has been licensed in real estate for over 35 years and has been licensed as a Broker for more than 30 years. He is currently Associate Broker with Prudential United Realty in Vancouver, BC. Georges was a Director of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver, and most recently served as his Board's President. He also served as a Director with the British Columbia Real Estate Association in 2003 and 2004.
 
  Gary Morse (Nova Scotia)
Vice-President

Gary Morse has been elected Vice-President of CREA for 2009. He has been CREA's Regional Director representing Atlantic Canada since April 2005. He is a Broker who has worked in real estate for more than 15 years, and now owns a design-build residential and small-scale commercial construction firm. He served as President of the Annapolis Valley Real Estate Board in 2000, and was President of the Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS® in 2002. Before a real estate career, Mr. Morse spent a number of years in municipal government administration.
 
 

Calvin Lindberg (British Columbia)
Immediate Past President

Calvin Lindberg served as President of The Canadian Real Estate Association in 2008. Before becoming President-Elect in 2007, Calvin had been elected Director-At-Large for CREA in 2005. A REALTOR® from West Vancouver, he has over 20 years experience in residential real estate
     Calvin has been active in all three levels of organized real estate. He has served as Director, Vice President and President for the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver and as a Director of the British Columbia Real Estate Association. He has also chaired CREA's Federal Affairs, Audit and Conference Committees.

 

Pierre Beauchamp
Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA), Mr. Beauchamp is a member of the Association's Executive Committee. He is also a Fellow of the Real Estate Institute, Director of REALTOR® Canada Inc., Chair of the Retirement Income Coalition and on the International Housing Coalitions management board, which CREA is a founding member of.
     In his role as CEO, Mr. Beauchamp has both administrative and managerial responsibilities as well as serving as the primary external spokesperson on matters of major relevance with the media and with government.
     Prior to being named CEO in 1995, Mr. Beauchamp served as Executive Vice-President of the Canadian Real Estate Association for 12 years. Previously he was secretary general of the Canadian chapter of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI/Canada) as well as being given the CIPS designation (Certified International Property Specialist Network) by the National Association of REALTORS®.

Brian Naphtali (British Columbia)
Regional Director

After completing studies in business administration, Mr. Naphtali entered the real estate profession in 1978. He became a broker in 1994, and purchased his first brokerage in 1994. He was elected a Director of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver in 2003, and served as Vice-President of the Board before becoming President of REBGV in 2007. Mr. Naphtali was also elected as a Director of the British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) in 2005, and remains on the provincial association Board. He has also served as Chair of the BCREA Education Committee.
     He is currently broker owner of RE/MAX Select Properties and RE/MAX Westcoast.

 
  Wayne Moen (Alberta)
Regional Director

Wayne Moen is the member of the CREA Board of Directors representing the Province of Alberta. He was first elected to the position for a two-year term in March 2006. He is a salesperson with Re/Max River City in Edmonton, and has over 30 years experience in residential, commercial and industrial real estate. Wayne has served on numerous committees at the local, provincial and national level of organized real estate over the past 16 years. He served as a Director of the Alberta Real Estate Association (AREA) from 2000-2005, and was AREA President in 2004. He was also Director of the Edmonton Real Estate Board (EREB) from 1991 to 1996, and was EREB's President in 1995. He also received the 2004 REALTOR® of the Year Award from the Edmonton Real Estate Board.

Reg Kotlar (Saskatchewan)
Regional Director

Reg Kotlar is Past President of the Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS®. Reg has been involved at all levels of organized real estate, starting in 1986 when he became a Director at the Saskatoon Region Association of REALTORS®. He became President of that Board in 2000. Reg went on to serve as Director, Vice-President and then President of the ASR, and has chaired a number of committees at the local and provincial levels.
     Reg holds a BA in Education and a Diploma in Adult Education. He was first licensed in 1978, and now has 27 years' experience working as a salesperson and broker in Saskatoon. He is currently President of Sutton Group-Norland Realty.

 
 

Reg Black (Manitoba)
Regional Director

Reg started his real estate career in January 1995. He is currently the Broker/ Owner for Century 21 Sun Country Realty, an office of 10 agents assisting buyers and sellers in the eastern Manitoba area. He also has the Market Value Appraiser (MVA) designation. Reg is a past Medallion Club award winner with the Winnipeg Real Estate Board, and served on the Board’s Member Services Committee. He was a Director of the Manitoba Real Estate Association starting in 2001, serving as its President in 2007. He also received the prestigious Community Services Award from the Winnipeg Real Estate Board in 1997. 

 
 

Mike Carson (Ontario)
Regional Director

Mike Carson represents Ontario on the CREA Board in 2008. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Mike moved to London, Ontario, in 1987 and joined the London St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® in 1993. He was awarded LSTAR's Outstanding Service Award in 2003, and was President of the Association in 2007. He served on the Ontario Real Estate Association's Communications Committee and CREA's Quality of Life Task Force, and chaired LSTAR's PAC Issues Advisory Group.
     Mike has a keen interest in travel and community service. Until 2003 he represented the Association on the London Housing Advisory Committee, which advises City Council on housing matters as they relate to the City, including affordable housing. He is also a particularly strong supporter of junior hockey.
     Mike works at Royal Lepage Triland Realty in London.

 
 

Marie Josée Guilbert (Québec)
Regional Director

Marie Josée has been a Real Estate Agent since 2001 and a Broker since December 2004. She first moved into the real estate profession by becoming an affiliate agent with La Capitale Champlain Inc. in Longueuil. By 2004, she had become an instructor at the Collège Édouard-Montpetit’s Real Estate program, teaching courses on the Real Estate Brokerage Act and Regulation and Contract Preparation.
     Marie Josée was elected to the Board of Directors of the Greater Montreal Real Estate Board in April 2007 for a two-year term, and re-elected for an additional two-year term in April 2009. She also started representing the Greater Montreal area on the FCIQ’s Political Action Committee in April 2007. In 2009 she was selected as CREA’s Regional Director for Quebec for a two-year term.

 
 

Beth Crosbie Alexander (Newfoundland)
Regional Director

Beth Crosbie Alexander was Vice-President of the New Brunswick Real Estate Association in 2007, before moving back to her native Newfoundland. During her nine years of experience as a licensed real estate agent, Beth has also served as Secretary-Treasurer and Vice-President of NBREA, and chaired a number of NBREA committees including the Finance and Complaints committees.
     Before entering the real estate industry, Beth was a small business owner and an instructor at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. She had studied fashion design at NBCCD after obtaining her BA in Politics and Economics at Queen's University.
     Beth is currently with Coldwell Banker Pro Co in St. John’s.

 
 
 
 

Ann Cosens (Ontario)
Director-at-Large

Ann Cosens has been a REALTOR® for 25 years, and has been active for more than fve years with her local real state board. Prior to her real estate career, she worked for 10 years in the financial industry managing and planning Estates and Trusts. Ms. Cosens was a Director of the REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington (RAHB) from 2003-2009, and was President in 2008. She has served on a number of committees, including the RAHB Finance, Professional Standards, and IT Committees. She has also been a member of the Communications Committee of the Ontario Real Estate Association.

 
 

Guy Huneault, FRI (Québec)
Director-at-Large

Guy Huneault was elected to the CREA Board of Directors in 2007. A resident of Quebec, he's been working in real estate since 1973, operating a franchise for a number of years before becoming an independent Broker in 1996. Guy has also held numerous posts in organized real estate. He was President of the Chambre immobilière de l'Outaouais from 2000 until 2008, and from 2006 until 2008 was the President of the Fédération des Chambres immobilières du Québec. Guy has been on the FCIQ board since 2004.
     In 2005 Guy became President of the conseil d'administration du Collège de l'immobilier du Québec – a position he held until recently. He is now a Director with the Collège and is also the President of the Foundation of the Collège. Founded in 1993, the Collège de l'immobilier du Québec is the premiere establishment for teaching real estate in Québec.

 
 

Laura Leyser (Ontario)
Director-at-Large

Laura Leyser is a Director-at-Large on the CREA Board of Directors. Previously, she had represented Ontario for a two-year term starting in March 2006. Laura has been licensed in real estate for 21 years, and is currently a residential sales representative with Re/Max a-b Realty Ltd. Stratford. Laura was the 2004 President of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA), and is currently Vice-Chair of the OREA Foundation Board of Governors and a certified OREA Continuing Education Instructor. She served terms as OREA Director from 1998 to 2005. Laura was also a Director with the Huron Perth Real Estate Board from 1991 to 1995, and served as Board President in 1996 and 1997.

 
 

Bruce Mullett (Newfoundland & Labrador)
Director-at-Large

A Director-at-Large in 2008, Bruce had previously served on the MLS® and Technology Council (MTC) from 2004 to 2007. Bruce began his career in residential and commercial real estate sales in 1997, and is an agent with Exit Realty On The Rock in St. John's. He also has an extensive background in the business community with many years of sales and senior management experience.
     Bruce has served as Director, Vice President and President of the Eastern Newfoundland Real Estate Board, and as Chair of the Provincial Merger and Amalgamation Committee. With the merger of three regional real estate Boards into one provincial Association in 2005, he became the first person elected President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of REALTORS®. Bruce is also involved in land development and construction, and serves as a member Canadian Home Builders Association - Eastern Newfoundland Board of Directors.

Brian Walker (Ontario)  
Director-at-Large

Brian Walker has been in real estate for more than 30 years, including 20 years as a broker/agent. He was President of the former York Region Real Estate Board in 1995, and served as a Director of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) from 2000 to 2009. Mr. Walker was President of the provincial association as well in 2007. He has served as Chair of seven OREA committees and task forces, dealing with issues such as technology, education and legal resources. He was also Vice-Chair of the Professional Standards Complaint Review Committee of the Toronto Real Estate Board from 2003 to 2005.

Dan Gies
MTC Chair

Dan Gies is MTC Chair in 2009. An MTC Director since 2005, he’s also served on the CREA Audit Committee and chaired numerous councils. Dan was on the Board of the REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington from 1998 to 2004, becoming President of that Association in 2003. At OREA, Dan served on the Licensing Education and Board and Member Services Committees between 2003 and 2005.
     Dan is Broker/Manager with Ken Gies Real Estate Ltd. in Hamilton, Ontario, a family-owned company established in 1983.

Robert Laing
AEC Chair

Robert Laing is the Executive Officer of The British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA), He joined the Association in 2000 as Director of Government Relations. Prior to his move to BCREA, Mr. Laing was head of the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, Real Estate Division where he focused on developing and delivering pre-licensing and continuing education to the real estate profession.

Jim Gammer
CCC Chair

Jim Gammer is the Chair of the Canadian Commercial Council of REALTORS® for 2009. A commercial specialist for 14 of his 17 years as a licensed real estate professional, Jim currently works with Macdonald Commercial Real Estate Services in Surrey, British Colombia.
   Jim first became a Director of the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board in 1995 and chaired a number of committees there, including the Board's Commercial Division in 2004-5. He also chaired the Fraser Valley Board's Legislative and Public Action Committee in 1995, the year that committee won CREA's PAC Award.
