Official Rules and Regulations
To Enter: Any Canadian resident who completes and submits a complete online response to CREA’s REALTOR.ca Living Room Three Year Anniversary Survey online between 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (ET), Sunday, February 14, 2021 and 11:59 p.m. ET, Monday, March 1, 2021 (the “Contest Period”) (“Participants”) will be entered for a chance to win one of the prizes set out below. A maximum of one completed Survey and one entry per Participant is allowed. Entries become the property of The Canadian Real Estate Association (“CREA”) and will not be returned. REALTORS® are also eligible. The Survey will be available online through the REALTOR.ca Living Room blog at REALTOR.ca/blog, social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest, and direct emails as well as the monthly newsletter sent to REALTOR.ca account holders.
Prizes: Total prizes available to be won are:
One (1) Google Nest Wi-Fi Thermostat (Approximate Retail Value $329.99)
Three separate prizes of one (1) Echo Show 5 Compact Smart Display (ARV $99.99 each)
One (1) August Home Smart Lock (ARV $155.00)
The Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable. A maximum of one prize per Participant will be awarded. CREA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a Prize or a component thereof with a prize of equal or greater value.
Drawing: The draw for all Prizes will take place on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. ET at the offices of 64397276 Canada Ltd. carrying on business as Alphabet® at 80 Aberdeen Street, Suite 40, Ottawa, Ontario. One (1) potential winner and one (1) backup winner for each of the Prizes available will be drawn at random from among all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
Eligibility: To be eligible to win any Prize, an entrant must: a) be a Canadian resident; b) have reached the age of majority in the province or territory in which she/he resides as of 12:01 a.m Sunday, February 14, 2021; c) not be an employee, representative or agent of CREA, nor be someone domiciled with any such person, and ed) have completed the REALTOR.ca Living Room Three Year Anniversary Survey as indicated above. Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations.
Odds: The odds of winning the Prizes depend on the total number of eligible entries received throughout the Contest Period.
Use of Information: By opting to submit an online survey, an entrant agrees to be entered into the Contest. If selected as a potential winner for the Contest, it will be necessary for CREA to verify that a potential winner fulfills the eligibility criteria for the Contest. No permanent records of any such personal information will be retained by such parties, except for the administration of this Contest.
Winner Notification/Prize Awards: The following process will be followed for the Contest. All potential winners will each be notified via e-mail by a representative of CREA on or before 5:00 p.m. ET, Friday, March 5, 2021. In order to win a prize, a selected entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, arithmetical, skill-testing question within seven (7) days from the time the prize notification is marked as having been sent by e-mail. The skill-testing question will be included electronically in the prize notification e-mail. The Prize will be forfeited and available to be awarded to the alternate winner following the procedures set forth above if: (a) the prize notification is returned as non-deliverable; (b) if the answer to the skill testing question is not returned within seven (7) days from the time the prize notification e-mail is marked as having been sent; or © if the skill-testing question is incorrectly answered. In the event the prize notification e-mail is returned as non-deliverable from the alternate winner, the alternate winner does not return the required documentation within seven (7) days, and/or the skill-testing question has been incorrectly answered by the alternate winner, the Prize will be forfeited and not awarded to any further alternates. Prizes will be made available to winners no later than Friday, March 19, 2021.
Additional Terms: By participating, all Participants agree to: (a) these Rules and the decisions of CREA which shall be final and binding without right of appeal in all respects; and (b) release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless CREA, its Board of Directors and staff, their advertising or promotional agencies, and any of the foregoing entities’ respective officers, directors, affiliates, related entities, partners, partnerships, principals, representatives, agents, licensees, employees, vendors, successors and assigns (collectively the “Contest Parties”) from any liability, claims, or damages, demands, actions, or causes of action whatsoever which they, their heirs, successors, assigns, executors, or administrators may now or hereafter have directly or indirectly against them or any of them in respect of or relating to the Contest, an entrant’s participation in the Contest, and/or the acceptance or use, misuse, or possession of a Prize. By accepting a Prize, each winner agrees to CREA’s and its designee’s use of his/her name, city, province or territory of residence and/or photograph or other likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without notice or compensation. All national, provincial and local laws and regulations apply.
Limitation of Liability: The Contest Parties shall not be responsible for print or typographical errors in the offer or administration of the Contest or any other Contest-related materials; for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, or incomplete entries; or for transactions that are posted late or incorrectly or are lost due to computer or electronic malfunction. CREA reserves the right, subject to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec, to cancel or modify the Contest if fraud or technical failures compromise the integrity of the Contest as determined by the CREA in their sole discretion.
For Québec Residents Only: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
