Function:
This position is a rare opportunity to join the REALTOR.ca Product Management Team. The Product Manager is responsible for setting the product direction and managing the product lifecycle. Through research and data analysis you will drive the product vision and be an evangelist for your product area. You are the voice of the customer as you translate market opportunities into business goals for Canada’s most popular real estate destination.
Responsibilities
Take an active role in defining our products future
- Contribute to the product vision, together with leadership stakeholders
- Identify strategic and tactical product opportunities to grow product adoption and reach business goals
- Develop a technical understanding of our products to identify areas for optimization and innovation to enhance and modernize the product experience
- Communicate and evangelize your product vision internally and among the wider association community
- Maintain current knowledge of competitive product positioning, feature sets and messaging
Lead your product in the right direction:
- Build an effective roadmap to prioritize important features that solve market problems and are aligned with business goals
- Establish and drive key metrics to measure the success of the product and related initiatives
- Balance new features, improvements, and bugfixes to ensure a high velocity and a stable product
- Consider the business impact, ROI, and other implications when taking important decisions
- Take high-level feature proposals and customer problems and break them into small iterations that engineers can work on
Manage the product lifecycle:
- Be the voice of the customer and the subject-matter expert for your group to define requirements and guide feature developments
- Follow the product development process; provide guidance and feedback to engineers and designers ensuring everyone is aligned
- Contribute to documentation, blog posts, demos, and marketing materials for your product area
- Collaborate with other Product Managers, UX Designs, and engineers in cross-team initiatives.
- Manage uncertainty in an efficient way, adjusting plans to new market conditions
- Leverage data to track product performance, drive decision-making to facilitate the best product outcomes
Continuously engage with stakeholders:
- Work in close collaboration with the business development, marketing, communications, legal, research, support teams and other cross-functional teams as the subject-matter expert for your product
- Talk to customers and engage with the community regularly
- Create and deliver presentations, demos, and training sessions to a diverse set of groups, customizing messaging to suit the audience
- Work with the entire Product team to share improvements and best practices
Qualifications
- Experience as a Product Manager with a proven track record of building and launching impactful products
- Solid understanding of the latest software technologies, trends, and strategies
- Deep technical literacy and ability to engage with a developer audience with a keen understanding of software building, packaging, deployment, and operation.
- Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Desire to lead, influence, and inspire a cross-functional team
- Thrive in a collaborative environment with cross-functional stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Entrepreneurial drive and a strategic self-starter that is comfortable with ambiguity and eager to solve problems
- Passion for design and usability
- Highly independent and pragmatic
- Confidence and ability to interface professionally with a wide spectrum of customers
- Professionalism in effectively conducting formal and informal training sessions or presentations.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Experience in agile software development methodology
- Highly determined with a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Exceptional verbal, written, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Fluently bilingual (English and French) is an asset.
This position requires some travel.
