CREA Unveils New Strategic Plan for 2026-2028

How our purpose, vision, and mission will be applied.

The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) is excited to release its new strategic plan that will guide the organization from January 2026 through to 2028.

This plan was developed over months of consultations, and strategic planning with key members of the REALTOR® association community, as well as our internal management team. As CREA embarks on a new chapter apart from Canada’s No. 1 real estate platform, REALTOR.ca (now a wholly owned taxable subsidiary of CREA), we sought to redefine our organization’s values and how we can best represent our REALTOR® membership.

What we arrived at is a vision for the next three years that better reflects the needs of REALTORS® from coast to coast.

Advocacy and Impact

Advocacy has long been one of CREA’s most important pillars. We recently celebrated the 40th annual Political Action Committee (PAC) Days conference, where members of the REALTOR® community met with Members of Parliament to share our recommendations for addressing Canada’s housing crisis. Our advocacy efforts ensure that REALTORS® have their voices heard at every level and, often, the voices of their communities as it pertains to housing accessibility.

REALTORS® are uniquely positioned as housing market experts in every community across the country. CREA’s advocacy work will continue to mobilize the collective voices of our members to enact positive change.

Our social purpose further solidifies this vision, “CREA opens doors to thriving futures for all, beginning with home.” Announced in 2024, this statement informed our decisions during the creation of this plan and will be a guiding light for all CREA does throughout the term of this strategic plan, and beyond.

Member Success and Growth

Ensuring our members have the tools, knowledge, resources, and support they need to succeed is something we take pride in. That’s why it’s exciting to see this commitment directly reflected in one of our pillars.

From trusted market data through the MLS® Home Price Index (HPI), to time-saving tools like CREA WEBForms® and a strong REALTOR.ca, we’re equipping members with resources designed to help them thrive in changing markets. This also includes legal support, regulatory guidance, and professional development opportunities tailored to an evolving industry.

REALTOR® Value and Professionalism

REALTORS® are at the heart of the home buying and selling journey. From guiding clients through complex decisions to making a lasting impact in their communities, CREA is committed to ensuring that RELTOR® value is recognized and supported. We’re proud of the high standards our members uphold, and we’re focused on helping them maintain and build that reputation.

That means continuing to raise awareness of the role REALTORS® play, while ensuring our members are equipped to deliver at the highest level. With access to a national ecosystem of tools, resources, and a growing library of professional learning, REALTORS® are better positioned than ever to meet the needs of today’s buyers and sellers.

Maintaining high standards across the profession is central to our commitment. Upholding the REALTOR® Code, and strengthening professionalism and ethics remain key priorities—because Canadians should be able to expect a consistent level of professionalism, service, and integrity, no matter where they are in the country.

Performance and Culture

There is no CREA without the people. Our REALTOR® members, our board and association community, and our own CREA staff are all critical in achieving every goal that we set. Our successes come from talent and collaboration, both of which are at their best when we focus on an organization that builds a culture to support and empower the team.

CREA is proud to have explicit performance and culture objectives as a part of our next strategic plan term, with goals that speak to people, collaboration, financial health, and enablement.

As our existing strategic plan enters its final weeks, CREA is focused on prioritizing and reviewing opportunities in line with the new strategic plan so that the teams can hit the ground running in January 2026.

We look forward to the progress we will make as a team in the coming years.
