CREA Celebrates 40th Annual PAC Days in 2025

From October 26 to October 28, 2025, Political Action Committee (PAC) representatives will join the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) in Ottawa, Ontario, to meet with their respective Members of Parliament (MPs) and advocate for practical, forward-thinking policies that ensure the right type and mix of housing is built—making home accessible and attainable for all Canadians. 

The most exciting part? PAC Days 2025 commemorates four decades of REALTORS® shaping housing policy and driving advocacy success. When PAC Days began in 1985, REALTORS® gathered to address the issues of their time, different challenges, but the same goal: bringing community voices to government. Forty years later, that spirit endures. PAC Days remains more than a conference; it’s a living example of Canadian democracy in action and the results speaks for themselves. 

For more than four decades, this grassroots voice has proven its strength time and again. REALTORS® have helped to shape landmark federal policies like the Home Buyers’ Plan, the First-Time Home Buyer Incentive, and the Canada Housing Plan. They have defended the rights of property owners, expanded opportunities for first-time buyers, and pushed governments of all political stripes to do more to address Canada’s housing crisis. 

The economic climate has changed dramatically in the past year which is certain to be a factor on everyone’s mind as we come together to discuss housing in Canada later this month. 

We’re excited about what this year’s event has in store. Here’s what you need to know. 

What REALTORS® are advocating for

REALTORS® will be advocating for the two recommendations.

If you’re not attending PAC Days 2025, we still encourage REALTORS® to share these recommendations on social media using the hashtag #CREAPAC25.

How to have a successful meeting

If you’ve been selected as a PAC representative and will be meeting with an MP, or a member of their staff, here are a few considerations to ensure a successful meeting. 

1. Review your MP meeting date(s) and time(s) before heading to Parliament Hill on the REALTOR® Action Network (RAN). Meeting times are subject to change, and often do. Make sure you’re double checking. If you need help, visit the MP meetings booth at PAC Days or speak with a member of CREA’s Government Relations team.
2. Review the Parliament of Canada’s Plan Your Visit webpage which is where you’ll find security/restriction measures, accessibility, and more. Allow 30 minutes before your meetings for security screenings as lines are common. Follow Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS) officers’ directions and be patient. Most importantly, don’t forget your ID!
3. Be ready to ADVOCATE! PAC Days is your opportunity to share REALTOR® perspectives directly with decision makers. Review the provided materials in advance so you can make your message clear and impactful.
4. Don’t be afraid to ask for a picture at an appropriate time and share it on social media using #CREAPAC25 and tag your MP’s account. If there’s one thing any good politician understands, it’s a photo op!
5. Remember to leave behind your MP Booklet.

Bonus: Invite your MP and their staff to the PAC Days Parliamentary Reception at Queen St. Fare on Monday, October 27 at 5:30 p.m.

Most importantly, remember to thank the MP’s staff for helping to organize your meeting, and be courteous and respectful of any questions they may have. The staff are there to facilitate your meeting and your interactions with them are key to fostering long-term relationships with the office.

Program highlights 

Renowned Canadians Arlene Dickinson, “Dragon” on Dragons’ Den and business icon, and Rick Mercer, comedian, television personality, political satirist and author, will both be part of the PAC Days 2025 program line-up. 

Other highlights include: 

• A historical overview of CREA’s Political Action Committee, led by Pierre Beauchamp, former CEO of CREA.
• An expert-led panel about the behind-the-scenes workings of politics in Canada.
• An insider look at transforming homebuilding through innovation.
• Legendary PAC Media Panel.

There will be an optional offsite visit for attendees to tour a prefabricated home builder in the Ottawa area to gain insights into the process.

Extend your impact with CREA’s REALTORS Care® Day

New this year at PAC Days 2025, representative will have the chance to extend their impact beyond Parliament Hill by joining CREA’s REALTORS Care® Day. 

Following event programming on Tuesday, October 28, PAC Reps will have the opportunity to unite in support of local community members in need of safe and affordable housing during CREA’s REALTORS Care® Day. 

Volunteers will spend the afternoon lending a helping hand in one of Ottawa Community Housing’s (OCH) downtown locations. OCH, a member of the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association, a Housing Canada Coalition partner, is the city’s primary community housing provider with approximately 33,000 tenants.

Registration will be available onsite during PAC Days 2025.
