CREA Monitoring NAR Settlement Announcement

The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) is closely monitoring today’s announcement from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) that it has agreed to settle its class action(s) by paying $418 million and eliminating its rules on commission that were the subject of the actions. There are different legal and factual circumstances between Canada’s litigation and the matter in the United States. Canada’s ongoing litigation is still before the courts and we will be reviewing their agreement.
